Our projects / Accomplishments
Tawasul started its activities at the beginning of the current Intifada, “Uprising 2000”, by carrying out a contingency plan with other partner organisations. This plan had a very crucial role in meeting people’s basic needs through intensive coordination and collaboration with Palestinian NGOs such as PARC, Hydrology Group, PANORAMA, CARE and various public committees in different Palestinian governorates. Tawasul contributed to the establishment of the National Emergency Committee, also designed to meet the urgent needs of Palestinians during the Israeli invasion of the West Bank.

Capacity building through training
 “Lobbying and Advocacy” training seminars:
several training seminars about “lobbying, advocacy and leadership skills”; target young people between 18 and 30 years old coming from all West Bank governorates. The aim of these seminars was to provide participants with the necessary knowledge, tools and skills that would enable them to plan and implement mobilisation and public awareness campaigns as well as to organise public workshops and town hall meetings. The result of the project was an increased number of active volunteers ready and willing to implement different activities on the ground within the framework of Tawasul’s mission and objectives, aiming at a more peaceful and tolerant society.

Human Resources Development through training: the project’s broad aim was to develop governmental and non-governmental groups' capacity to play a more active role in community development and in supporting the development of democracy and the rule of law. The specific goal of this project was to develop the communication skills of 260 police officers in the Ramallah district through intensive training courses in communication, motivation and delegation. The project lasted for six months. Phase one targeted 100 police officers and phase two targeted 160 officers and investigators. The five intensive training courses of the project provided the participating officers with professional skills.

Democratisation Town Hall Meetings: we are conducting dozens of town hall meetings in different Palestinian cities and refugee camps. These town hall meetings are forums for open discussion during which people find the opportunity to express their concerns and formulate their questions. The meetings provide a healthy atmosphere for creative and constructive discussions, emphasising the significant role that the public can play in participating in the decision-making process.
